The Challenge

Our client wanted to improve employee preparedness for safety incidents. While they had robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), employees rarely encountered real-life safety issues due to the company’s excellent track record.
They approached Hurix Digital to bring these SOPs to life, enabling employees to visualize and react effectively in emergencies. Some of their key challenges were:

Our Solution

Hurix Digital developed Safety Roleplay Scenarios, an interactive eLearning program designed to immerse learners in real-life safety incidents. This intuitive program allowed employees to step into various roles, such as DCS Operators, Outside Operators, Shift Leaders, and Superintendents. This allowed them to make critical decisions during a safety scenario.

Here’s how the solution was designed:

  • Learners could assume different roles and see incidents from multiple perspectives, fostering collaboration and understanding of various responsibilities.
  • They made decisions at key points in the scenario, allowing them to witness the consequences of their actions.
  • To reinforce the learning, participants saw visual representations of their decisions, helping them understand the impact of following or deviating from SOPs.

The Result

The implementation of the Safety Roleplay Scenarios resulted in:
