Our client is a major FMCG retail chain headquartered on the US East Coast, operating over 5000 stores nationwide with an annual revenue exceeding $800 million.

The Challenge

Our client’s secondary data center had become outdated, leading to unreliable disaster recovery capabilities. Budget constraints had prevented significant IT upgrades, resulting in unproductive manhours, financial losses, and decreased customer satisfaction during primary data center outages.

Our Solution

Hurix Digital’s Cloud Services Architects conducted a comprehensive assessment of the client’s IT infrastructure, presenting a cost-effective solution that involved:

  • Maintaining the primary on-premise data center.
  • Replicating the primary data center on Azure to build an active-passive disaster recovery (DR) site.
  • The Azure-based DR site was tested rigorously, ensuring that all IT services could be restored within 30 minutes to meet the expected RTO and RPO.
  • Shut down the on-premise secondary data center and keep only the Azure DR site to reduce the cost of the secondary data center by over 50%.
