Project Lead – InDesign

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Lead with extensive expertise in prepress/publishing, books & journals, and a deep understanding of Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
The ideal candidate will be adept at template development, accessibility standards, resource management, and end-to-end project management. The candidate will lead the creation of complex InDesign templates, ensure accessibility compliance, and manage project workflows to deliver high-quality outputs on time.
What will your day look like:
- Lead the design, customization, and management of advanced InDesign templates, ensuring consistency and efficiency across various projects, particularly for books and journals.
- Implement and maintain accessibility standards for all InDesign projects, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations (such as WCAG, Section 508, etc.).
- Efficiently manage and allocate resources, providing guidance and training to team members, while ensuring optimized productivity and meeting project deadlines.
- Lead project workflows from initiation through delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing, ensuring all milestones and deadlines are achieved.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for both internal teams and clients, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and ensuring a seamless project life cycle.
- Oversee all project deliverables, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance. Conduct thorough reviews and implement improvements as necessary
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and editors, to deliver cohesive project outcomes that align with client requirements.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Expert in Adobe InDesign (Template Development, Complex Formatting)
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat
- Expert in Pressing and Publishing for books and journals
- Accessibility Specialist with knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g., WCAG)
- Strong resource management and team coordination skills
- Proven experience in project management, ensuring timely and successful delivery
- Proficient in Excel for data management and project tracking
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
